GOAT BitVM2 Testnet is now live, and with it comes the BitVM2 Genesis Pioneer Campaign.
This is a milestone for Bitcoin L2 development - it puts Bitcoin-enforced bridging into an environment users can actually exercise end to end: deposit, withdraw, and observe behavior under real confirmation latency and fee conditions.
GOAT Network’s L2 design uniquely incorporates the full stack (no outsourced components):
The BitVM2 Genesis Pioneer Campaign is how we pressure-test the bridge portion of that stack with real users and real network variance.
Phase 1 - Cross-Chain Explorer - is focused on usability and stability of the BitVM2 Bridge between Bitcoin and GOAT Network.
You’re validating that Bridge In/Bridge Out works reliably, that the process remains understandable when timing stretches, and that withdrawals remain stable during Bitcoin congestion.
Typical end-to-end processing is around ~60 minutes, but the point is to test across changing fee and mempool conditions.
Task 1 - Bridge In (BTC → EVM)
Connect a BTC wallet and an EVM wallet, choose an amount of tBTC, set a Bitcoin fee rate, and submit the request.
After verification, you finalize the flow with a second submit step. Track the status live in Transaction History.
Task 2 - Bridge Out (EVM → BTC)
Withdraw from your EVM wallet back to your BTC wallet (subject to the minimum withdrawal).
Before confirming, check the amount, exchange rate, and bridge fee, then observe settlement performance under current Bitcoin conditions.
Phase 2 testing will move into node participation. Challenger nodes (open participation) will monitor and challenge operator behavior, and Operator nodes (whitelisted) will run proof and operational flows with liquidity provisioning.
Note: Phase 1 will remain live throughout Phase 2, so users can continue bridging and earning Phase 1 entries while node testing ramps up.
A Message to the Community
GOAT BitVM2 could be the most important development since Bitcoin’s inception. A real Bitcoin L2 is essential infrastructure if Bitcoin is going to become the backbone of a new decentralized economy.
We thank you for showing up early and stress-testing this with us. Every bridge-in, bridge-out, and piece of feedback helps harden GOAT BitVM2 under real Bitcoin conditions.
Together, we’re making Bitcoin usable.
