Meet Redouane Elkamhi, a Professor of Finance at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and a Core Contributor to the GOAT Network, on stage of Token2049, a premier event in web3.
This presentation introduces a universal Layer 2 (L2) solution designed for Layer 1 (L1) platforms, focusing on the GOAT Network. We will primarily explore GOAT version 1, which targets Bitcoin's L2. The session will begin with a brief overview of the current state of Bitcoin L2 solutions, highlighting known shortcomings such as fragment liquidity issues, security and trust concerns, centralization, interoperability challenges, and economic incentives. We will then explain how the GOAT Network addresses these issues, emphasizing its importance for the ongoing development and adoption of Bitcoin L2 solutions to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient transaction capabilities. We will delve into GOAT's decentralization model, shared ownership benefits, economic model and sustainable yield, and the alignment between network economics and token design. Additionally, we will provide a quick snapshot of our team. Finally, we will present our long-term vision for a universal L2 for all L1s, featuring our innovative "entangled rollup" technology that ensures the free movement and security of assets. I will discuss what we have developed so far and the next steps in this journey.
