Gift Cards on GOAT Network: Agent Payments Meet Everyday Spending

Despite significant progress in agent payment infrastructure, agent payment flows remain largely disconnected from real-world utility. Agents can move tokens across wallets, but connecting those payments to products people can actually use in daily life is still underdeveloped.

Until today.

GOAT Network has integrated Snaplii’s gift-card infrastructure to connect onchain agent payments with everyday spending.

USDT and USDC can now be spent on gift cards from major merchants in the US and Canada, including Airbnb, Amazon, Apple, DoorDash, Starbucks, Uber, Uber Eats, and Walmart.

The payment flow is powered by x402 via GOAT AgentKit, with Snaplii providing the gift-card and merchant fulfillment infrastructure.

Why Gift Cards?

Agent commerce only becomes meaningful when agents can complete useful, real-world actions.

A user can request a gift card from a supported merchant, pay with USDT or USDC, and receive a usable gift card. The final output is a product that can be redeemed with a major consumer merchant.

Crypto payments have often been strong inside crypto-native environments, but weaker when connected to ordinary consumer behaviour. Users can move tokens between wallets, deposit into protocols, trade assets, and interact with onchain systems. The connection to daily spending has usually required separate apps, cards, custodial workarounds, or merchant-specific integrations.

Gift Cards on GOAT Network offers a more direct pattern for agent-assisted payments: the user gives an instruction, the agent handles the payment flow, and the outcome is something usable in the real world.

Gift Cards on GOAT Network applies the complete agent payment workflow to everyday spending.

Gift cards are a practical starting point because they already sit inside existing merchant acceptance. Snaplii’s infrastructure connects the crypto payment flow to gift-card fulfilment, allowing AgentKit to demonstrate agent payments without requiring every merchant to rebuild checkout infrastructure for agents from day one.

This makes the use case immediate.

How it works

The payment flow uses x402 through GOAT AgentKit.

A user gives the agent a purchase request, including the merchant, country, gift-card amount, payment token, and network. The user can also instruct the agent to show the order details before payment and wait for confirmation.

The agent then checks whether the requested gift card is available. It queries the gift-card catalogue, supported payment networks, and supported tokens. Once the purchase parameters are valid, the agent creates a pending order and returns the order details to the user.

The user reviews the order and confirms.

After confirmation, the agent executes the payment for the existing pending order. It does not create a duplicate order. It pays the order, returns the onchain transaction hash, and continues tracking fulfillment.

Once the order is fulfilled, the gift card is issued. The user receives the redemption details, including the balance, barcode, card number, and PIN.

The demo video below shows the full process from request to fulfilment: an agent-assisted crypto payment ending with a usable gift card.

A reference use case for builders

This use case shows how AgentKit can be used to connect crypto payments with real-world outcomes, and the build pattern is not limited to gift cards. It can apply to any agent-driven commerce flow where the agent needs to check options, create an order, request confirmation, execute payment, verify completion, and return a usable result.

x402 provides the payment layer. GOAT AgentKit gives builders a way to connect agents to payment flows and onchain actions. Together, they give developers a foundation for building agent products where crypto can be used directly, not only held, traded, or transferred.

This is where the GOAT AI Builder Program comes in.

The program is open to teams building agent-based products with practical economic utility. Builders can access technical support, ecosystem support, distribution support, and a $1M grants pool.

Gift Cards on GOAT Network is one example of what can be built when agent infrastructure connects to real consumer utility.
